More Free Traffic?

A few weeks ago I mentioned a service called Traffic Digger to gain free blog traffic (view post here). Also, you may have noticed that I removed the Google ads from the top of this site. Well, this week I joined Adgridwork. Adgridwork is a text base advertising system whose ads look very similar to Google's Adsense ads.

The system is designed to show your ad on other sites in exchange for you placing the code on your site. You show the ads for free and you get hundreds of impressions (and hopefully a few clicks) all for free. In the last couple of days this blog has shown the ads approximately 70 times. However, my ad has had over 500 impressions. The downside, those 500 impressions have resulted in only one click through to this site. Still, one free visitor in two days is fine with me. I plan to keep the ads where they are.

As usual, I will keep everyone updated on the usefullness of this service.

Cash Parking

I own a couple of domains that I purchased in the past. I recently learned of a process called cash parking. Basically the organization you work with will put ads on your domain page (replacing everything else). You then get a portion of the income generated from the traffic still coming to the site. I chose to use godaddy.com.

Over the past few months I have been able to generate about 20 visitors a day to The Astronomy Ranch. Godaddy.com is charging me $3.99 a month for this service and I will receive 60% of the revenue. They also offer a higher level where I could keep 80% of the revenue. This level costs more so I will experiment with the lower payout for now.

Fusion Cash Update

Yesterday I received payment from Fusion Cash for the offers I completed last month (see '$26 in Only One Hour). The money, $26, was posted yesterday to my PayPal account. This is my first real payout of the project and I am very excited!

As an update on the offers I signed up for, I called and cancelled Stamps.com and FreeCreditReport.com this week. Both were still in the trial period so no charges had been made to my credit card. When I called Stamps.com, I spoke with someone in India whose voice was not very loud. I had a hard time hearing and understanding him especially with my two boys crying and hollering in the background.

Fusion Cash is definitely worth the time. I will check back later as they continually add new offers.

Top Secret Tactic to Retire Earlier

Today I am using a guest author, Kimberly Patrick. She has great experience in the mortgage industry and has written this intriguing article. Enjoy!

The dream of owning a home is becoming very difficult for some people. Although everyone would like to have a home that is paid for free and clear, most people must acquire a mortgage that will be paid over 30 years into the future, and they make that monthly payment and that is it.But there are better ways to make your money work for you, and I am going to show you how you can benefit by "saving" your money more effectively.

Most mortgages have no pre-payment penalty clauses built into them unless it is of the sub-prime variety, in which case, your first and foremost goal should be to refinance into a conforming loan. But for today's example, we are going to focus on the "conforming loan scenario". And as I was saying, most conforming loans enable the borrower to pay more than the minimum amount of the monthly mortgage payment without any penalty.

To do this, you simply pay more to the lender than the usual mortgage payment every month. The benefit to this is that every extra dollar paid against the mortgage will lower the outstanding balance of the mortgage. This increases the equity in your home faster over time. Also, by lowering your outstanding balance, you will save on interest charges.

Here is an example based on the scenario of an average family.

If you are an average family making $50,000 per year, let us assume that you are saving, annually, at the same rate as most Americans. This rate of savings as reported by our government is about 4% of your income every year. This would mean that you are putting $2,200 in the bank every year for retirement. This breaks down to around $183 per month.

For the sake of this example, let's take this one more step and figure out what you would save after 30 years of saving $183 per month...the answer, without figuring out any interest is $65,880.

Right now, you are probably receiving at or about 1% Annual Percentage Rate in a basic savings account. And if you are depositing this into a 401k-GREAT-but it is still growing slowly. Why not take $100 of this money that you would normally save and pay down the mortgage on your home?

The following example shows why this is in your best interest. If you take out a mortgage on a house for $250,000 at a 6.5% fixed rate for 30 years, your monthly principal and interest payment would be about $1,580. Factoring in interest, after 30 years, the total amount you will have paid is...are you sitting down?... $568,870! Wow...hard to imagine.

But look what happens when you take $100 of your monthly savings and pay it towards the balance of your mortgage. When you add $100.00 to your mortgage payment every month you would save $58,863 in interest charges over the life of the mortgage! Now that is no small chunk of change!!! You would also be able to retire your mortgage about 5 years earlier...so now you have turned your 30 year mortgage into a 25 year mortgage...and it gets better.

Let's say that after the 25 years are up and you are living in your home that is PAID FREE AND CLEAR...now let's say you pretend that you still have a mortgage of $1,580 + your $100 additional payment, for a total of $1,680. Let's say you keep paying that, but now you are paying yourself! Let's say you keep doing that for the next five years...now you have a retirement account (after five years) worth $100,800! Now we're talking big bucks-and I mean big bucks in your pocket versus big bucks in "The Man's" pockets! To sum up the benefits of using this method, the borrower in the example above saved:$ 58,863 in interest on their loan

$ 24,900 in passbook savings ( $83.00 per month X 1% APR X 300 months )

$100,800 is additional savings instead of paying "The Man"

For a grand total of $184,563! Holy Mackerel...now that is a number that can get you excited! Now let's revisit the other option if the family had just paid their mortgage as agreed, and continued saving $183 per month. We already figured out the amount...$65,880. The difference is $118,683! Now THAT'S a difference! There are many ways you can use your money more powerfully, and this is one of the best ways that I know! Just imagine if you applied $200 more to your payment each month...hmmm...

Free Traffic for Everyone

One of my sources of income, of course, comes from the traffic generated from this blog. Google Adsense and affiliate links both are potential income producers. Therefore, it is imperative that I get people like you to this site to share my strategies with as well as increase my chances of reaching my income goals.

I ran across a site called Traffic Digger. This site promotes viral advertising. Don't fret, viral advertising is not going to crash your hard drive or send thousands of emails from your computer. Viral advertising, like MLM, works on a pyramid scheme. The more people who sign up under you or I, the more times our ads will be shown thus increasing the possibility of more targeted visitors. Through Traffic Digger all of this is free!

I'm using Traffic Digger starting today and encourage you to as well. You can click on the links in this post or on the banner at the bottom of the page to sign up.

I'll keep you posted on my success with the service.

Good luck to all!

$26 In Only One Hour

I ran across a site, FusionCash.net, that allowed me to make $26 in less than an hour. If I wasn't stuck with a slow dial up connection, the time would have probably been as short as 15 minutes.

Fusion Cash partners with many companies including NetFlix, Stamps.com, and FreeCreditReport.com just to name a few. These companies offer free trials or discounted initial offers and free money for signing up! For example, I signed up for Stamps.com's free trial and received $8. For FreeCreditReport.com I received $10. These offers required a credit card to sign up. If I don't cancel before the free trial is over, the card will be charged the monthly fee for the service. Either way the incentive money is mine to keep. I also signed up for a few survey sites which paid between $0.75 and $1.50 each. These and several other offers do not require a credit card.

Fusion Cash pays out on or before the 20th of the month in which the money was earned. The method of payment can either be PayPal, check, or direct deposit. I chose PayPal. There is a minimum payout threshold of $25.

I also received a $5 sign up bonus which is also available to anyone when they register.

I performed these offers in late October and cashed out my $26 balance. I'll keep you posted on whether I receive the money by November 20.

I think Fusion Cash will be a great addition to my quest.

The Online Income Project - Welcome!

The goal of this blog is to outline my progress in generating an income online. I will try several methods and review them here for your convenience. You can learn from my mistakes and losses while deciding which methods to use on your own. As an initial goal, I would like to be make a profit of $200 by January 1, 2008. From there I will increase the goal until I reach a level that I feel is comfortable. I would also like to point out that I recognize all gifts and blessings in my life come from my Heavenly Father. As with all of my income, 10% of the profits from this project will go to my church.

I hope you will join me on this quest. It should be full of ups and downs. However, I hope it will be rewarding and helpful to everyone.

Let’s get started!
